Ark of the covenant Church
We’ve been exploring the dynasty of David, and one of his defining qualities was
wisdom. To build the Ark of the Covenant church—a dwelling place for God’s
presence—great wisdom is essential.
God doesn’t give wisdom merely for personal benefit; He gives it for generations.
True wisdom is enduring. It is not just knowledge, but divine patterns revealed by
God to establish life, legacy, and His purposes on the earth.
Proverbs 4:1-13
Security in Wisdom
1 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding;
2 For I give you good doctrine:
Do not forsake my law.
3 When I was my father's son,
Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,
4 He also taught me, and said to me:
“Let your heart retain my words;
Keep my commands, and live.
5 Get wisdom! Get understanding!
Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you;
Love her, and she will keep you.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she will promote you;
She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace;
A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”
10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,
And the years of your life will be many.
11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right paths.
12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,
And when you run, you will not stumble.
13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go;
Keep her, for she is your life.
2 Chronicles 1:1-12
Solomon Requests Wisdom
1 Now Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord
his God was with him and exalted him exceedingly.
2 And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, to
the judges, and to every leader in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ houses. 3
Then Solomon, and all the assembly with him, went to the high place that was at
Gibeon; for the tabernacle of meeting with God was there, which Moses the servant
of the Lord had made in the wilderness. 4 But David had brought up the ark of God
from Kirjath Jearim to the place David had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent
for it at Jerusalem. 5 Now the bronze altar that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of
Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the Lord; Solomon and the
assembly sought Him there. 6 And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar
before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of meeting, and offered a thousand
burnt offerings on it.
7 On that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask! What shall I give
you?”
8 And Solomon said to God: “You have shown great mercy to David my father, and
have made me king in his place. 9 Now, O Lord God, let Your promise to David my
father be established, for You have made me king over a people like the dust of the
earth in multitude. 10 Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and
come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?”
11 Then God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not
asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked
long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge
My people over whom I have made you king— 12 wisdom and knowledge are
granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the
kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.”
Proverbs 25:1-5
Further Wise Sayings of Solomon
1 These also are proverbs of Solomon which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah
copied: 2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
3 As the heavens for height and the earth for depth,
So the heart of kings is unsearchable.
4 Take away the dross from silver,
And it will go to the silversmith for jewelry.
5 Take away the wicked from before the king,
And his throne will be established in righteousness.
Exodus 25:22
22 And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy
seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about
everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.
Numbers 7:89
89 Now when Moses went into the tabernacle of meeting to speak with Him, he
heard the voice of One speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the
ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; thus He spoke to him.
1 Samuel 4:4
4 So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from there the ark of the
covenant of the Lord of hosts, who dwells between the cherubim. And the two sons
of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
